Brandon Alexander is an abstract painter based in Issaquah, Washington, working primarily in acrylic and mixed media on canvas. His paintings draw on the compressed geography of the Cascade foothills — the way fog settles into the valley and flattens depth, the way a stand of trees becomes a single field of color at distance. Rather than depicting these conditions, he builds them: layering thin washes, scraping back, and letting earlier passes surface as interruptions. The resulting works hold a tension between softness and structure, with vertical gestures and hard breaks reading as both landscape and pure mark. He came to painting after a career spent elsewhere, an arrival he describes as a return to something set aside rather than a discovery. His practice remains deliberately unhurried — most canvases sit for weeks between sessions, and he considers the waiting part of the work. Alexander's paintings have been shown in Puget Sound regional exhibitions and are held in private collections throughout the Pacific Northwest. He works from a home studio near Tiger Mountain.
